Vision
The Bioscience Research Center will be a leading node for the development of revolutionary computational technologies for knowledge discovery in the life sciences. These technologies will extensively accelerate biomedical discoveries for the benefit of the nation.
Mission
The Biosciences Research Center will develop innovative knowledge innovation and data amalgamation platforms for the biosciences field through research center. It will provide a leading role for the Nation in the search for bioactive molecules for use in, biosciences, as well as the biotechnology.
As the key force for computational life science research in the Pakistan, and following a core concept of future research of SZABIST, the Center will unite academic and commercial partners through collective projects of significance.
Objectives and Approaches
The Center offers excellent interdisciplinary scientific environment for researchers in the field of biosciences, engineering, mathematics and computional sciences. The center focuses on experimental design and theoritical modeling, data analysis, and development of sophisticated computational approaches to produce practical solutions for complex problems of biology, bioinformatics, wireless sensing networks, and RFID based Solutions. The Center will have its own international Scientific Advisory Board, as well as an Advisory Board for Commercialization and Industrial Collaboration.
Center activities will include:
- Graduate research and training.
- Research and Development of generic and Specialized technologies.
- Research and Development of resources for the biosciences.
- Industry partnerships and indigineous technology development.
The primary focus of the research center is the development of cutting-edge computational technologies for knowledge discovery in the biosciences along with variety of R&D projects in biosciences and Wireless sensor networks particularly in RFIDs.
